Happy New Year! "Climb Every Mountain"

As we enter the New Year of 2008, may we all feel the joy and peace and love that is God's gift to each of His children, if we will only open our hearts to Him.

A truly uplifting message is in the following video of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing,"Climb Every Mountain".

What an inspiring goal and resolution for the New Year of 2008!

The virtual card includes a gallery of 14 Christmas and gospel-centered paintings depicting the "I Am" statements of the Savior found in the Gospel of John. There are also brief interviews with each of the artists sharing their insights into the pieces and their inspirations.

Visitors to the online card can also download a free screensaver of the images featured in the gallery.

The artwork was created by the College of Fine Arts and Communications' junior narrative storytelling class under the direction of BYU visual arts professor Bethanne Anderson.

Let My Will Be Swallowed Up In God's Will

By Elder Neal A. Maxwell
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

I am going to preach a hard doctrine to you now. The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. It is a hard doctrine, but it is true. The many other things we give to God, however nice that may be of us, are actually things He has already given us, and He has loaned them to us. But when we begin to submit ourselves by letting our wills be swallowed up in God’s will, then we are really giving something to Him. And that hard doctrine lies at the center of discipleship. There is a part of us that is ultimately sovereign, the mind and heart, where we really do decide which way to go and what to do. And when we submit to His will, then we’ve really given Him the one final thing He asks of us. And the other things are not very, very important. It is the only possession we have that we can give, and there is no lessening of our agency as a result. Instead, what we see is a flowering of our talents and more and more surges of joy.

Christmas Light

I love the Christmas season! The music is beautiful, the Spirit is strong and freely expressed. The gift of giving and serving is seen everywhere. The gratitude for the birth of our Lord and Savoir is (or should be) the reason we celebrate this season of Love and Light.
