The teachings of Isaiah are so important to me and feel so relevant to our times.
I have decided to start a second blog and devote it wholly to the writings of the Prophet Isaiah. His writings found both in the Bible, in the Old Testament, and in
2Nephi, in the Book of Mormon are so deep and all encompassing. Isaiah's words are both poetic and prophetic. They seem to me to be essential for instruction and inspiration in our current latter-day times.

I'd be so happy if you would visit and maybe leave a comment and tell me what kind of things you'd like to see on this blog. Any suggestions would be most helpful. This Spring and Summer, I will be doing an intensive independent study of the writings of Isaiah. I've picked up several great Isaiah commentary books at the local library, and if you can recommend any others, please let me know. Those I have found, so far, are:
"Isaiah, Prophet, Seer and Poet"
and "Unlocking Isaiah"
both by Victor Ludlow,
"Simplified Isaiah for LDS"
by David Minert,
"Isaiah, for Airheads"
by John Bytheway,
"Isaiah Speaks to Modern Times"
by W. Cleon Skousen

I love Isaiah...or shall I say I'm DETERMINED to love Isaiah. My morning gospel study has been the best part of my day for 20 years. About 6 months ago I decided it was time to tackle Isaiah. I use helpful commentaries and make so many notes you can hardly read the "original" text -- but it's coming! It's so painstaking slow (a whole morning's worth of study for 3-5 verses) that I figure it'll take me another year of concentrated effort. Help me out! Anything you write about Isaiah would be greatly appreciated by would-be scholars like me.
Love,
Mona

Sounds like a great idea for study. You might want to check out this Bloggers site...she has written a book about insights into Isaiah for teenagers.

ps. Beautiful article.
the bible is magical in that almost everything in it is timeless, and relevant today, yesterday, and tommorrow
Definitely hard to understand, but that's where praying comes in handy. :)
OT: I am searching to find other LDS blogs for a friend who has created an LDS blog where all other LDS blogs can be located at. If you have an LDS blog, they would be glad to add it.
