The film For Greater Glory opening in theaters June 1st is a must-see film for those who take seriously their religion or spiritual path.
The efficiency of one's spiritual opening requires political freedom. It's very hard to keep one's heart and soul open, holding open the love and joy and inner peace of one's spiritual nature, if politicians and bureaucrats are dictating every second area of one's life.
Prosperity and well-being also require political freedom. Following divine guidance provides everything one could possibly need ... and more. But how easy is it to follow divine guidance when there are thousands of laws, regulations, and Presidential decrees forming an almost impassable maze of hoops to jump through?
Certain beliefs and practices are considered sacred by religions. But how can one be holy and righteous when men and women who gain political positions use government power to undercut one's beliefs and practices?
Liberal-progressives have convinced themselves they know what is in every one's best interest and it is their mission to use government force to create their version of a Utopian society. In their minds, they rather than God, are the guardians of people's well-being. Everyone else is to adhere to liberal-progressive beliefs or keep their mouth shut. Everyone else is to follow the liberal-progressive rules or pay the penalty.
In the 1920s, in Mexico, liberal-progressives realized they could not create their Utopian society without squelching the influence of the Catholic Church. Government troops (basically legalized thugs) raided churches and killed priests. At least 40,000 Mexicans said, "Enough is enough!" and took up arms.
The Cristeros War was a rebellion against the liberal-progressive dictatorship mentality. It was an unsuccessful war in the sense that the freedom fighters eventually believed government promises of reconciliation only to later be all killed by government betrayal. It was also a failed war for an 80 year period due to the Mexican government writing it out of history as if the people had never fought for their freedom.
But if the movie For Greater Glory, which uncovers and makes known the true story of the Cristeros War, is seen by you and all your friends and family ... and if you feel the inspiration ... then the efforts of the freedom fighters will not have been in vain.
